S13:E7 - “Scott And Turner Kite Fishing” (2018)

Turner Rowland joins the guys as Capt Scott Walker guides them to search for Sailfish on Kite Baits.

Captain Scott Walker from the show, Into The Blue joins the Saltwater Experience crew with Turner Rowland as they use kite baits to fish. As an experienced kite bait fisher, Scott attaches quite a few high wind kites, one that reaches 150 feet in depth and the other at 90 feet. An effective way to fish successfully is to have quite a few kite baits in use, as well as using flat lines all at once. With the live bait in the water, there was an automatic pull coming from the lines, and the guys were able to bring in bonitos, and quite a few dolphinfish. Bonitos, also known as false albacore, is a tough and challenging fish to catch. While not as common in the Northeast, they are quite plentiful in the Florida Keys. Turner ends up with an amberjack on the line, and while putting up a good fight, a shark unfortunately was able to get to the fish first.

As always, we had Jason Stemple with us to document this trip in ultra high quality still photos.  Here are some of my favorites.  Enjoy!
