How do I tie a Bimini Twist?

Knots- Bimini Twist

The Bimini Twist is a knot that just scares the crap out of some people.  I know that the first time I ever saw someone tie a Bimini Twist, I was pretty sure that I would never be able to tie one.  The guy I watched used his toes, tongue, a couple of fingers and a pair of pliers to tie his.  No wonder it looked difficult.

We get tons of questions about the Bimini Twist and how to tie it.

The Bimini Twist is used to double the line without losing any of the strength of the line.  Anglers need to do this to be able to tie stronger knots as well as using the bimini for a leader on its own.  If you are going to do much saltwater fishing, you are going to need to learn how to tie a Bimini Twist quickly.  We filmed this video in hopes of showing how easy it can be to tie a Bimini Twist.

Check it out and let me know if it helps by leaving a comment.

If you are still struggling with this knot, watch this other video we filmed that goes into more detail:

We have a ton of knot videos on the site.  Go to www.saltwaterexperience.com and check out all the videos.  If you want to see us tie a different knot, let us know by leaving a comment or using the "Ask Us A Question" form.

All the best,
